African Dancer

Sergio Ortiz

muscles covered with Orisha oils
spiral porous into nature

stirring up his legs… Samson moves
through the sands upon his sand

sweet and strong like Cuban rum
bound with bow strings

betrayed by a pair of
poisonous hips

Sergio Ortiz has a B.A. in English literature from Inter-American University, and a M.A. in philosophy from World University.  His poems have been published, or are forthcoming in: Autumn Sky Poetry, The Smoking Poet, The Acentos Review, Poesia, and Words-Myth.
